Our 2017 Epiphany: Beyond “Beautiful” to Deeply Personal
It was here, back in 2017, surrounded by heritage and tradition, that we – Stefan & Marlen Wacha – asked a radical question: How could a wedding ring become not only beautiful to the beholder but also truly personal and meaningful for the wearer?
Mass Production Can’t Capture Individuality
The answer wasn’t to be found in just another design – it was inside us. Searching for something that truly felt like ours, we realized that mass-produced jewelry, however luxurious, cannot hold your story. We realized the missing element was you, your uniqueness.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
How does the retina scan work?
The retina scan is quick, completely painless, and totally safe. Simply place your forehead on a padded rest while looking at a small green dot. The special camera gently aligns itself with your pupil and uses a brief flash of light to capture the unique pattern of your retina – your personal fingerprint of vision. The process is then repeated with your other eye. Immediately afterwards, you can view both images on the screen. The entire process takes only about a minute – and is even less complicated than a conventional eye exam.
What if I can't come to Basel?
Our service is available worldwide. In addition to video consultations, we are happy to refer you to reliable partners in your area for the retina scan. Your custom-made wedding ring will then be handcrafted in our Swiss studio and shipped securely to you. A visit to Basel is a special experience, but by no means necessary.
Can I still make adjustments after the 3D visualization?
Of course. After the scan and consultation, our founder and designer Stefan Wacha will create a photorealistic 3D visualization of your ring. You can change every detail—from the material and edge design to engravings and gemstone settings. We will not begin production until you are completely satisfied with the design.
How much does a Retina®Wedding Ring cost?
Eheringe aus Gold oder Platin beginnen bei etwa 2.600 CHF. Der endgültige Preis richtet sich nach Material, Größe, Breite, Goldkurs sowie etwaiger Personalisierung – z.B. Diamanten oder Gravuren.
Ein breiter Platinring für Herren kann aktuell (Stand Juni 2025) auch über 4.000 CHF kosten. Im persönlichen Gespräch beraten wir Sie transparent zu allen Möglichkeiten – so bleibt Ihr Trauring einzigartig und passend zum Budget.
How are the rings shipped?
Every Retina wedding ring is shipped insured and only handed over upon signature. We ship in discreet, neutral packaging to protect your privacy and inform you in advance with a tracking number so you know exactly when your order will be shipped. We coordinate the delivery together to ensure that your wedding rings arrive exactly when you want them. For international shipments, any import taxes or customs duties may be handled directly by the respective courier service – these fees are determined by local authorities and are beyond our control.
